Where can I find the beach hut?
You see that big star? Well yep, that’s where Ellie is. We just love how central she is on a small row of beach huts (one row) just a stones throw from all the main gardens, amusements and extra activities that Felixstowe offers!
Note that due to the severe storms this winter, Ellie will not be placed back onto the sand this summer (2018). However, she will not be moved location as we initially thought and instead, will be staying on the promenade where she currently sits during winter. To allow the huts to stay in their current position, they have been moved slightly with each hut being turned 90 degrees in groups of two huts back to back. This frees up space onto the promenade to sit outside but also ensures each hut has enough light getting into them and that you have a beach view while opened up.
Felixstowe Pier itself is currently undergoing an exciting renovation and there are lots of new restaurants and food options just a few steps behind. With lots of amusements, rides (yep even water orbs), there is lots to do if you feel like you need a break from the beach at any point too.
The promenade at night is light up with gorgeous colourful lights and if you happen to book on a Saturday there is a great boot sale on Saturday and Sundays just a few minutes walk from the hut.
Whether you plan to spend the full day on the beach or take a bit of time out to explore Felixstowe, this is one hut that is perfectly located to do so.
Note the closest postcode is IP11 7LZ and may help for those sat nav users! Note on street parking is available but can be very busy during summer months and will cost up to £6.00 for 10 hours.
A larger car park with 215 spaces can be found at Ranelagh Road, Felixstowe (IP11 7HA) and approx a10-minute walk. This is charged at £2.00 per 24 hours.
Maximum of 6 people, in and out of the hut, including babies and children.
We have thought carefully about the layout of Ellie, who is slightly smaller that than our other beach huts but this far from detracts from her usage. with seated storage and build in fold down tables, she is perfect for couples, individuals seeking time out, a group of friends or families with children.
During the summer months, she is directly on the beach so you’ll be on the sand itself! The promenade is wheelchair friendly but do bear in mind that the hut is directly on the beach if you have anyone in your party with mobility issues.
Can I bring my dog?
We’d love to say yes but unfortunately, there is a small 0.5mile of the beach on which Ellie sits (Spa Pavilion to Arwela Road) that limits the ability to have your dog on the beach during those months.
Outside of May-Sept, you are welcome to bring your dog.
Where are the nearest facilities?
You can find baby changing and toilets at Spa Pavilion – just turn left out of the beach hut and it’s approx 200 yards.
In each Beach Hut, you will find a plastic water container which can be used to fill up and provide you with water during your stay. The tap itself is located about 100 yards behind the hut on the promenade. Again turn left out of hut towards Spa Pavilion to find it.
Do remember that if you are booked between 1st October and 1 April, you will need to bring your own bottled water (most localities remove taps to avoid freezing).
Where can I Park?
There is a car park, literally at the back of the beach huts (Undercliff Road West – use postcode IP11 7LZ). There are limited spaces.
It will cost you £6.00 to park for the day, though there is another car park just 10 minutes walk away which charges £2.00 per day with 215 spaces. You can find this at Ranelagh Road, Felixstowe (IP11 7HA)
Do remember that both the car park and neighbouring streets will be extremely busy at weekends and during peak seasons.
What time can I arrive and depart? Can I sleep overnight?
Due to popular demand and it’s great success, we extended our operating hours in 2016 to 9 am to 8 pm.
Unfortunately, you cannot sleep overnight in our beach huts but the late departure time will allow you to arrive for bacon rolls and leave the beach hut post some fish and chips! A number of our guests brought PJs with them for the younger members of the family – a quick change pre-car journey and much easier once home!
What will I find in the Beach Hut? Do I need to bring anything?
One of the best things about our beach huts is that we make sure everything is here for you including that all-important bucket and spade.
Three things we ask you to bring: MILK, BIN BAGS (please take all rubbish home or deposit in bins on the promenade) and TEA TOWELS for washing up.
Don’t worry if you forget to pack milk (tea, coffee, sugar is provided).. there are lots of shops and cafe’s on sea road just behind the beach hut.
How do I pay?
Our payment is safe and secure, using PayPal. But don’t worry if you don’t have a PayPal account to use – we accept credit and debit cards and when you checkout, you’ll be guided through the process. Payment will be taken in full at time of booking.
We will refund the full value of your booking less £15 if cancelled more than two weeks pre your booking. Unfortunately, we cannot refund any bookings that are cancelled less than two weeks pre your date.
What else do I need to know?
The only things left is read our T&Cs. I want you to have fun and for your day out to be the best it can – please do take 5 minutes to read through these. My biggest plea is to keep to the numbers of guests we have stipulated.
One of the many reasons questioned for the licence change of our prior huts on the private development was that there were too many ‘large’ parties and I know I found myself calling some parties direct who had several other guests with them or who happened to be in the area. We have incurred a significant amount of cost due to this – please help us avoid this with our new huts. Any parties found to be breaching those T&Cs will be asked to leave (sorry to be a stickler but we’ve been badly burnt by this one!!).

What happens next?
You’ll receive a confirmation email post payment and two weeks (or less if booking within two weeks) pre your booking, you’ll receive another email from us with a code to access the beach hut (key safe has codes regularly changed for security and contains keys to the hut).
We do not currently operate a meet and greet service to give you flexibility re your arrival time but you’ll find someone close by who may pop by to check that everything is how you expect.
