Where can I find the beach hut?
The Glasshouse is situated on the fourth row and thus our only beach hut in Walton-on-the-Naze that has a large decking area outside and offers fantastic views over the beach.
Number D105 – she is situated approx half way between the Pier and the corner where you turn towards Frinton (know as the Leas).
Maximum of 6 people, in and out of the hut, including babies and children.
The Glasshouse is all about relaxing and escaping the rest of the world for a while. Perfect for a day of snoozing and chilling out to your heart’s content.
With a larger decking area and ’boutique’ style, The Glasshouse is aimed at adult days out or families with older children.
You won’t find toys and games for kids in this beach hut but you will find lots of class and luxurious surroundings. Three words – luxury, peace and tranquillity. Oh and lots of vintage china for that special lunch or picnic too.
Perhaps a perfect excuse for that mum and dad only date, anniversary or perhaps you may be thinking of proposing?
Can I bring my dog?
As with all our of our huts, dogs are more than welcome, though, during peak seasons, a prior agreement is required for more than one average size dog. We do find we accommodate this subject to the overall party sizes – don’t be scared to ask before booking.
Walton’s beach directly in front of the beach hut is dog-friendly all year round. You have a good few miles of beach all year to explore and let them off lead. As with all outdoor locations – do please remember to clean-up (and if you forget your ‘poo-bags’ you’ll find a few spares in the beach hut.
Where are the nearest facilities?
With your back to the hut turn to the right. A couple of huts along you will see the steps that lead to the Promenade. Follow them down and you will find your water tap. At the tap, look right and you will see a white concrete building which is situated behind the front row of beach huts. These are your nearest toilets.
In the winter these toilets are sometimes shut to prevent the pipes from freezing. If this is the case walk along to the pier and you will find a block of loos opposite, these are open all year round.
Do remember that if you are booked between 1st October and 1 April, you will need to bring your own bottled water (taps are removed to avoid freezing).
Where can I Park?
You may find you are able to park on the residential streets nearby and in the rail station car park. However, there is a large public car park near the station and pier (Church Road, CO14 8DE).
Please do be courteous and note the restrictions that may be in place if parking on a residential street.
The summer season and weekends are very very busy. Do be prepared for extra traffic and arrive early to secure parking.
What time can I arrive and depart? Can I sleep overnight?
Feel free to make the most of the day and enjoy our beach hut between xxx and xxx.
Unfortunately, you cannot sleep overnight in our beach huts but our open times will allow you to arrive for bacon rolls and leave the beach hut post some fish and chips!
A number of our guests brought PJs with them for the younger members of the family. A quick change pre-car journey and less work to do once home!
What will I find in the Beach Hut? Do I need to bring anything?
One of the best things about our beach huts is that we make sure everything is here for you.
Three things we ask you to bring: MILK, BIN BAGS (please take all rubbish home or deposit in bins on the promenade) and TEA TOWELS for washing up.
Don’t worry if you forget to pack milk (tea, coffee, sugar is provided), there are lots of shops on the way into Walton, and you’ll find a Tesco express in the centre of Walton itself. You’ll also find the seafront cafe’s at the Pier open during peak times.

What else do I need to know?
The only things left is read our T&Cs. I want you to have fun and for your day out to be the best it can – please do take 5 minutes to read through these. My biggest plea is to keep to the numbers of guests we have stipulated.
One of the many reasons quoted for the licence change of our prior huts on the private development in Walton was that there were too many ‘large’ parties. I know I found myself calling some parties direct who had several other guests with them or who happened to be in the area and popped by their beach hut. We have incurred a significant amount of cost due to this and were forced to sell those beach huts due to the licence change. Please help us avoid this with our new huts.
Any parties found to be breaching those T&Cs will be asked to leave (sorry to be a stickler but we’ve been badly burnt by this one!!).
Please do look at our FAQs if it hasn’t been covered above.
What happens next?
You’ll receive a confirmation email post payment and a followup email containing all the information above so that you have this to hand.
Two weeks pre your booking, you’ll receive another email from us with a code to access the beach hut (key safe has codes regularly changed for security and contains keys to the hut). We do not currently operate a meet and greet service to give you flexibility re your arrival time but you’ll find someone close by who may pop by to check that everything is how you expect.
It may even be Millie and me who come to say – we love to see our guests enjoying the huts and gives us a chance to get some feedback directly from you. Do say hi if you spot us out on the beach… yeah she’s the one in the water with a tennis ball.
