Carly’s Winter Beach Hut Hire – Millie’s Beach Huts

In our second blog of 2016, we are featuring the gorgeous Carly who took the chance to celebrate New Years Eve with a beach hut hire with her family.  Yes, I did say that right… they spent their NYE (winter!) on a family day out at a beach hut…..

I took the chance to ask Carly a few questions about their day out at Millie our beachy blue hut:

 

When did you visit Millie’s Beach Huts?

31st December 2015 (New Year’s Eve)
 

Isn’t a beach hut just for summer, sun, sea and sand??? (aka really … you hired a beach hut in winter!)

We love going to the beach in winter. What’s not to love… Fresh air, empty sand to run on and dig in, long refreshing walks and then returning to the beach hut for tea and cake or fish and chips. We love it!

 

Who did you bring with you?

Four adults and two children. A lovely relaxing family day.

Where did you travel from?

Braintree in Essex

Describe your day at the beach hut in one sentence…

Utter heaven!
 

Why did you choose Millie’s Beach Huts?

Well, they are just so beautiful! Plus they have everything you need and Vicky is so helpful and friendly.  (aww thank you!!)

 

What advice would you give to someone planning their day at the beach huts?

Plan your day. We like to start with breakfast on the deck, tea and pastries in the winter, fresh fruit, pastries and orange juice in the summer. We then usually spend time on the sand digging, playing and chasing; followed by a walk and then back to the hut for fish and chips. In the afternoon, we tend to visit the pier and then finish off relaxing in the beach hut playing games and reading.

We take spare clothes for the children no matter the weather.

 

Our huts are filled with lots of handmade items by very clever small businesses (and some Cath Kidston for good measure)… do you have a favourite item?

 How can I possibly choose!  Possibly the rainbow button hoop! I do love that. (n.b, unfortunately, you can no longer purchase these but they were made by the wonderful and glittery DollyDearLove)

What’s the one item that you’d recommend everyone brings with them for a day at the beach?

A hat (sun or bobble!)

 

What name would you give your own beach hut?

I feel that everyone who has visited has played a part in the beach huts design – we’re opening Isla in just a few months – any special requests?

Maybe a book exchange between guests? (love this idea.. hoping to squeeze in a reading nook!!)

So … you are stranded on a desert island beach, what three things would you bring with you?

1) I Pad- for music, books and photos of my favourite pair!!  2) Sun cream (I am terribly pale!)  3) An everlasting supply of tea
