Where can I find High Tide?
High Tide (no.51C), is located on the third row with a stunning large veranda. With no B row immediately in front, you have stunning view over the beach and the pier whilst maintaining your privacy a short few steps away from the promenade and beach.
Just a 3-4 minutes walk from the Pier, you can spend the day relaxing in your own private sun trap but still see directly down onto the beach for those who may prefer to take a dip or build those sandcastles!
In light of current covid restrictions – a maximum of 8 people (from two households), in and out of the hut, including babies and children.
High Tide is perfect for couples, individuals seeking time out, or families with children. Sun worshippers will love the more private aspects of the veranda while those who love the beach but perhaps not enjoy the busier school holidays or busy peak times, will enjoy the added privacy she offers.
And while we hope you don’t need it, she comes with a perspex window that can be slotted in if the weather isn’t quite up to standard!
Can I bring my dog?
As with all of of our beach huts, dogs are more than welcome though, during peak seasons, a prior agreement is required for more than one average size dog. We do find we accommodate this subject to the overall party sizes – don’t be scared to ask before booking. I have two spaniels myself!
Do just consider their safety during the day – particularly during summer. We have dog bowls in each hut, so ensure they are regularly topped up and if they are very active, try to encourage them to seek shade and snooze!
The beach directly in front of High Tide is dog-friendly all year round. You have a good few miles of beach all year to explore and let them off the lead.
As with all outdoor locations – do please remember to clean up after them! Walton has blue flag status and we’d love to keep it that way for us to all enjoy ;0)
Where are the nearest facilities to High Tide?
To locate the Southcliff Promenade toilets turn right out of the hut and walk along the path until you reach the first set of steps on your left. Follow the stairs down and once you reach the promenade turn right. Walk along the prom for 5mins – the toilets are set back on the right-hand side in a white building.
Baby changing and year round toilets are also available opposite the Pier. Around a 5 minute walk form the beach hut.
The closest tap can be found just a few steps away. Turn left out of the hut and take the first set of steps on your right. The tap is located at the bottom of the first set of steps on the right hand side.
Where can I Park?
You may find you are able to park on the residential streets nearby and in the station car park but be prepared to arrive early to get a space during the peak weekends and summer (particularly given the anticipated increase in visits during 2021).
Please do be courteous and note the restrictions that may be in place if parking on a residential street.
There is also a large public car park near the station and pier (Church Road, CO14 8DE) which is £6 for the full day.
If you do park here then take an of the slopes down between the beach huts onto the promenade rather than walking round to the Pier. Find a beach hut with the number on – then the lower numbers are towards the Pier. High Tide is 51C 😉
What will I find in High Tide? Do I need to bring anything?
In normal circumstances – we’d normally provide everything you need for a day at the beach. However, in these bananas times, we continue to be very careful around our Covid Protocols to ensure everything is thoroughly cleaned per arrival.
Gas stove, kettle, crockery, cutlery and tea, coffee and sugar are all included for your use but if you feel uncomfortable using our crockery, then do pack your own.
Don’t forget the all-important – MILK, BIN BAGS (please take all rubbish home or deposit in bins on the promenade) and TEA TOWELS for washing up. Plus any beach bucket and spades and toys you’d like to use – HIgh Tide has a some beach toys but we find that everyone has a fave and while we look to replace any breakages, it can sometimes be hard to track them down given demand for all things outdoors!
There are lots of shops on the way into Walton if you do forget anything, and you’ll find a Tesco Express in the centre of Walton itself along with a Marks and Spencer and Lidl nearby too.
You’ll also find the seafront cafe’s and Pier open during peak times. Personally, we love the cafe opposite the Pier (who also sell fab doggy ice cream) and Yates Fish and Chips which is a short 10-minute stroll away.
What else do I need to know?
Along with our T&Cs, you’ll find all the generic beach hut hire questions over in our FAQs section HERE.
What happens next?
You’ll receive a confirmation email post-payment to confirm your booing but one week pre your booking, you’ll receive another email from us with a code to access the beach hut (key safe has codes regularly changed for security and contains keys to the hut).
We do not currently operate a meet and greet service to give you flexibility re your arrival time but you’ll find someone close by who may pop by to check that everything is how you expect.
