From boxes filled with goodies to for you pooch to a regular supply of some very cool stationary. The number of subscriptions that are now on offer is all so tempting! Or is that just me? They had me at stationary. Honest.
So when I started looking into a subscription option for Millie’s Beach Huts Club, it involved a LOT of research. I read books, searched the internet, read reviews and more importantly learn from the common complaints that were raised about monthly subscriptions.
After a lot of brainstorming, churning numbers, looking at historical bookings and speaking to my customers. I launched Millie’s Beach Hut Club in October 2016 and joined that growing list of monthly subscriptions that are on offer.
We continue to increase our club numbers every month but I also see bookings come in that are worth more in value than some of our Club options.
Some people would wonder why anyone would do that when the membership offers better value and they would have saved money by doing so. However, it would be silly for me to not recognise that a monthly subscription is not for everyone.
In fact, there are 5 reasons why I believe you should not join Millie’s Beach Hut Club.
5 Reasons Not to Join Millie’s Beach Hut Club
#1 You prefer spontaneous family days out
Life can be crazy.
Holidays, summer breaks, birthdays, kids parties, clubs and activities. By the time you’ve co-ordinated the family diaries, there isn’t always a huge amount of space left!
It’s a fine balance between booking things in advance to ensure they ‘happen’ and remembering to stop and enjoy the simple things like a day at home in PJs with a few films.
If you are someone who prefers to decide on the spur of the moment, then the club is probably not for you. Being able to book up to nearly 2 years advance is one of the biggest benefits of joining the club and while you may on the odd occasion be able to secure a last minute booking. This is high unlikely during our peak season when we book out months in advance.

Cancellations do happy but in reality, the odds are high for those days to coincide with your own spontaneous need to use one of your beach hut hire club days.
#2 You don’t enjoy feeling part of a community or club
We don’t give badges out and we even allow you to be part of other ‘clubs’.
But I know that for some, just the word club will have you running for the hills.
We don’t expect you to bond with other members though I suspect if you were all in one place, you’d have an amazing party! But if you distrust memberships, clubs and well anything that tries to provide value over a period of time, well this isn’t the place for you.
#3 You don’t see beach hut hire as part of your regular ‘time out’
You may have spotted this article on social media which promotes the health benefits of a trip to the beach.
Many of our guests regularly take ‘time out’ at the beach to retreat from the day to day stresses of life and would agree with the article.
But what if the best way for you to de-stress isn’t at the seaside? What if having regular time out down the beach isn’t your thing and instead you have other ways to de-stress and enjoy that time with your family?
Well, just keep doing that thing you enjoy instead. Your family and your own health will more than benefit from it!
#4 You have subscription fatigue
Whether you have 1 subscription or 10, you may slowly be starting to realise you have subscription fatigue.
You may have been happy to sign up for a handful of subscriptions for items you really love but when that monthly bank statement arrives, it can be painful.
If you are re-evaluating how you feel about subscriptions (monthly or annually), then take a bit of time out to work out how important each is to you.
Right now, it’s probably not the right time to buy another.
#5 You don’t lurrrrrrve a beach hut day
I get it. I live 10 mins from a beach and in the other direction, I can be in the fields and hills. Both are ace but I know my heart is on the beach.
But if you don’t really lurrrrve a beach hut day, then you probably aren’t going to book 3 days per year. Or more. You’ll have a fab time maybe once a year and appreciate the day for what it is. Sand in your toes, watching the world go by but your passion may be up in those hills.

Grab a cuppa and plan those days in the hills instead. Go …… do it!
